I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with specialization in Mathematics from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. After graduation I taught fourth grade, seventh grade math, eighth grade math, and Algebra 1 for 30 happy years to the children in Texas City ISD. In 2010 I was name the Secondary Teacher of the Year for the school district.
After retirement from public education, I found a new home at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. I currently teach math to students in third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. It has been 36 years since my “first” day of school, and I am just as excited and passionate about helping children learn as I was back then. I truly feel blessed to be a part of this family here at Our Lady of Lourdes.
My husband and I have been married for 35 years. We have 3 beautiful daughters who all became teachers like their mother. I am also the proud grandmother of a precious little boy named James. I love being is Nana and I am looking forward to the day when he will come to school with me. In the meantime, James and I enjoy reading, counting, playing with trucks and trains, going to the park, and playing with my granddog, Rudy!
