The curriculum at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School is more rigorous than in public school. We follow the Archdiocese curriculum and the TEA/TEAKS objectives. Students are challenged and we focus on growth in all subjects.
We are recognized as a S.T.R.E.A.M. certified school and all students participate in S.T.R.E.A.M. activities. S.T.R.E.A.M. stands for Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, The Arts, and Mathematics. This is a framework of instruction that enhances our commitment to delivering a rigorous and engaging academic program that celebrates, develops and inspires to meet the needs of our students.
Our curriculum is developed through the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. We are fully accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops Education Department, recognized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and is a member of the National Catholic Education Association.
Our students’ classroom learning is enhanced with the use of integrated technology. Students in third through eighth grade have the use of individual Chromebooks and lower grades use Firetablets and our computer lab.
All students also participate in daily PE, music four times per week and daily religion class. Each day ends with independent learning time, similar to a traditional study hall, which allows students to work independently on assignments and projects.
Students complete annual national standardized testing. We do not participate in the STAAR test.
